Barbara James Service Award
The cutoff date for Barbara James Service Award hours is TBD. All hours must be entered and APPROVED by chapter advisors in the HOSA online activity tracking system by midnight on this date. The levels of recognition for SLC are below.
**Please understand these amounts are NOT the same as what is required for recognition at ILC. The ILC requirements are located in the event guidelines.
2023 SLC Recognition Levels (pending no changes in event guidelines)
Bronze Level: 67.0 - 116.9 approved hours
Silver Level: 117.0 - 166.9 approved hours
Gold Level: 167.0 + approved hours

SLC 2023 - NC HOSA Award Nominations
NC HOSA annually recognizes those individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to North Carolina HOSA. Chapters should submit a completed nomination form
(see link below) to NC HOSA by TBD. If you have questions, please email slc@nchosa.org.
Honorary Life Member - Given to an individual who has made a long-term contribution to NC
HOSA, and who is deserving of a high honor.
VIP Award - Given to a person in an educational administration position who has demonstrated
outstanding support of NC HOSA, i.e. CTE Directors, Superintendents, Principals, Legislators,
Mayors, etc.
Partnership Award - Given to a person or organization outside of NC HOSA, based on their
contribution to NC HOSA in strengthening the partnership of supporting our future health
professionals, i.e. hospitals, health agencies, healthcare organizations, businesses, local and
state agencies, etc.
Merit Award - Given to a person within the HOSA organization or working with the
organization who deserves recognition for his/her special efforts, i.e. advisors, retired advisors,
alumni, national officers, parents, spouses, etc.
