2024 State Leadership Conference (SLC)

Date: April 3-6, 2024 (Please note there will be competitive events starting on Wed, April 3rd)

Location: Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons/Koury Convention Center

Registration Deadline: February 15, 2024 - All affiliation fees, FLC fees, and RLC fees must be paid
in full to register and compete at SLC

Registration Fee: $80 per participant (t-shirt included)

*Middle school division students may compete at SLC regardless of finish in regional competition

2024 SLC Competitive Event Information

SLC competitive event lists are now posted. Please note all competitive events under the guidelines section on hosa.org will be offered EXCEPT Parliamentary Procedure and MRC Partnership.

Students are only allowed to compete in one (1) competitive event at all levels of competition. They may compete in unlimited recognition events including the ATC tests ($10 each) and Healthcare Issues Exam.

SLC 2024 - Event Eligibility and Accommodation Request

Event Eligibility Form for Personal Care, Interviewing Skills, Life Support Skills, and Speaking Skills - this form must be completed and uploaded to the Event Eligibility Form Submission Link below by February 22, 2024. If this form is not uploaded by the deadline then the competitor will not be eligible for this event. If the competitor also needs accommodations then the Accommodation Request Form will also need to be submitted.

Event Accommodation Request Form - for any event where a student needs reasonable accommodations at SLC. Advisors must submit a completed Event Accommodations Request Form to the link below by February 22, 2024 to request accommodations for SLC. If you have questions about HOSA's policies on accommodations please follow this link. In order to have event accommodations at ILC then the accommodation must be provided at SLC.

SLC 2024 - Hotel Information

Pay close attention as the process is different this year

Room Rate: (tax rate currently 12.75% but subject to change without notice)

Standard King or 2 Doubles: $162 per night plus tax

One Bedroom Family Suite: $225 per night plus tax (standard room with a small separate sitting area - may have pull down murphy bed) limited quantity available

Executive Parlor: $375 per night plus tax (you must also reserve the connected standard king room and the connected 2 Doubles room) Parlors will be listed on their own line - limited quantity available

All reservations will be made using an online link. This link will open on Monday, February 12, 2024.

There will be no changes accepted until Monday, February 26, 2024.

The deadline for hotel reservations is Tuesday, March 12, 2024. This is a hard deadline. You must have your hotel reservations made by this date.

Last day to make changes is March 25, 2024. There will be NO CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS after this date.

Important: Candidate interviews and testing will be held on Wed, April 3rd at SLC starting at 12:00 noon. Exact schedule will be shared after application closes.

Candidates should have 3 teachers, one of which must be the lead HOSA advisor, to complete the recommendation form below by February 22, 2024.

SLC Conference Assistants

High School students interested in serving as a conference assistant at SLC should, with their advisor's approval, complete the SLC Conference Assistant application. Your advisor must also select the conference assistant option when they register you for SLC in order to be considered.

The number of voting delegates per chapter is based on the total chapter membership. Please identify your voting delegates during registration by choosing the voting delegate option.

2024 SLC Blood Drive Recognitions

American Red Cross - Advisors should complete this form if you hosted blood drives through the American Red Cross - Deadline for submission is March 14, 2024

Blood Connection - No action is needed. The Blood Connection will gather information from their database and reports.

SLC 2024 - Barbara James Service Award

The cutoff date for Barbara James Service Award hours is February 22, 2024. Hours completed from June 1, 2023 through February 22, 2024 that are documented and APPROVED by the chapter advisor in the HOSA online activity tracking system by midnight on this date will be counted. The levels of recognition for SLC are below.

**Please understand these amounts are NOT the same as what is required for recognition at ILC. The ILC requirements are located in the event guidelines.

2024 SLC Recognition Levels

Bronze Level: 67.0 - 116.9 approved hours

Silver Level: 117.0 - 166.9 approved hours

Gold Level: 167.0 + approved hours

SLC 2024 - NC HOSA Awards

NC HOSA annually recognizes those individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to North Carolina HOSA. Chapters should submit a completed nomination form to NC HOSA prior to the conference upload deadline of February 22, 2024. Honorary Life Member - Given to an individual who has made a long-term contribution to NC HOSA, and who is deserving of a high honor.

VIP Award - Given to a person in an educational administration position who has demonstrated outstanding support of NC HOSA, i.e. CTE Directors, Superintendents, Principals, Legislators, Mayors, etc.

Partnership Award - Given to a person or organization outside of NC HOSA, based on their contribution to NC HOSA in strengthening the partnership of supporting our future health professionals, i.e. hospitals, health agencies, healthcare organizations, businesses, local and state agencies, etc.

Merit Award - Given to a person within the HOSA organization or working with the organization who deserves recognition for his/her special efforts, i.e. advisors, retired advisors, alumni, national officers, parents, spouses, etc.

SLC 2024 - National Anthem Singer

Each year NC HOSA invites a student(s) to sing the National Anthem during opening ceremonies. Interested students may submit an audition video using the link below. The deadline to submit is February 22, 2024.

SLC 2024 - Design Contest

Students are invited to submit designs for the NC Pin and Tshirt to be used at ILC. Designs need to be very creative and not include dates. NC wants to have the most desired pin at ILC this year. Submission deadline is February 22, 2024. Design finalists will be voted on during the business session at SLC 2024.

SLC 2024 - NMDP (Formerly Be the Match) HOSA Service Project

Deadline for submission is February 22, 2024

If your chapter has raised money and/or clocked service hours towards our National Service Project, "NMDP", be sure to have those hours/money logged in the HOSA Activity Tracking System and approved by February 22, 2024. Remember this is a chapter award so money/hours need to be logged under one chapter member, does not matter which one as only the chapter name will be called. Per NC HOSA Policy and Procedure, the election of the NC HOSA Board of Directors occurs during the annual State Leadership Conference. The positions that are rotating off and are available for election for the 2024-2026 term are:
