NC HOSA Scholarship Program
The NC HOSA Scholarship Program allows NC HOSA partners to contribute $500 or more to recognize academic excellence. Scholarships are awarded on merit, academic achievement, leadership skills, and community service. Donors are invited to attend the State Leadership Conference to present the scholarship awards. Scholarships may be named with amounts of $500 or more. Any amount received under $500 will be deposited into the general scholarship fund. If you are selected as a scholarship winner, it is requested that you attend
the SLC Recognition Session on March 26th at 8:00 pm to accept the scholarship from the sponsor.
You must be a member of HOSA - Future Health Professionals in North Carolina to be eligible.

2026 NC HOSA Scholarship Teacher Recommendation Letter Submission Link
NC HOSA Scholarship information is listed below. Please complete all areas of the application by March 6, 2026 at 5:00 pm. Scholarship interviews will be held if requested by the scholarship sponsor.
All applicants will submit a color photo, resume, unofficial transcript, essay describing future career plans and how a scholarship would help you reach them, and 3 recommendation letters, one of which must be from your HOSA advisor/Health Science Education teacher. Please have teachers submit their recommendation letters using this link. It is the applicants responsibility to provide this link and ensure that the teachers have submitted. Deadline for teacher recommendations is March 6th at 5:00 PM.
Resume should include: Career Goal; Health Science Education classes taken with grade earned; community service involvement including the number of hours; leadership; number of years in HOSA; awards, honors, and/or educational societies.
2026 NC HOSA Scholarships (Applicants will be considered for all scholarships in which they are eligible)
Pennybyrn Compassion in Healthcare Scholarship - High School Seniors, For over 76 years, Pennybyrn has been a leader in providing innovative and compassionate service and care for older adults. Located on 71 beautiful acres in the middle of North Carolina, we are built upon Christian values that honor the dignity of each person. This scholarship is for $750.
Northern Regional Hospital Scholarship - This scholarship is provided for a North Carolina HOSA high school senior from the Northwest or Piedmont Triad Region who plans to continue their education in a healthcare field. This investment reflects Northern Regional Hospital's dedication to nurturing local students, encouraging them to pursue their careers close to home, and strengthening the region's healthcare talent pipeline. This scholarship is for $1,500.
Southminster Scholarship - This scholarship is open to high school seniors and collegiate students in the Southwest Region who aspire to become future healthcare professionals. This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to serving their communities through healthcare and service. Established to support and invest in the next generation of healthcare leaders, the scholarship provides financial assistance to help offset educational expenses and encourage continued excellence in their academic and professional pursuits. Recipients exemplify Southminster’s core values—community, excellence, compassion, well-being, and doing the right thing—while demonstrating a dedication to improving the health and well-being of others. This scholarship is for $1,000.
Shawn Blanton Memorial Scholarship - The Shawn Blanton Memorial Scholarship is in memory of Shawn Blanton, a former Health Science student at Smoky Mountain High School, whose life was tragically taken while on duty with the North Carolina Highway Patrol on June 17, 2008. In high school, Shawn took an active role in his HOSA chapter. He was Co-President of his local chapter and a regional, state, and national competitor in CPR/First Aid. He also exemplified the model student and citizen. This scholarship is given to a high school senior from the Western Region in memory of Shawn Blanton to recognize a HOSA member who brings the best of themselves to HOSA. This scholarship is for $500.00.
NC Healthcare Association I Do Care Scholarship - The North Carolina Healthcare Association launched the I Do Care initiative in 2024 to inspire students across North Carolina to explore the wide range of meaningful career opportunities in healthcare.Today’s students want more than just a job, they want purpose. Research shows that Gen Z and Gen Alpha prioritize making a difference in their communities. Healthcare offers countless pathways to do just that, from bedside care and technology to administration, research, innovation and more. No matter your passion, there is a home for you in healthcare. Through the I Do Care Scholarship, NCHA is proud to invest in the next generation of healthcare leaders — students who are ready to serve, innovate, and help build a stronger, healthier North Carolina for years to come. This scholarship is available to high school seniors or collegiate members. This scholarship is for $2,000.
Novant Health Career Pathways Scholarship - The Novant Health Career Pathways Scholarship is open to high school seniors. This scholarship is for $2,500.
Hugh Chatham Health Foundation Scholarships - The Hugh Chatham Health Foundation scholarships are for high school seniors located in Surry, Wilkes, Alleghany, or Yadkin counties. There will be 2 scholarships awarded for $1,500 each.
