2026 State Leadership Conference (SLC)
Date: March 25 - 27, 2026 (Please note there will be competitive events starting on Wed, March 25th)
Location: Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons/Koury Convention Center
Registration Deadline: January 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM (NEW) - All affiliation fees and RLC fees must be paid
in full to register and compete at SLC
Registration Fee: $85 per participant; Free t-shirt for all attendees
*Middle school and Postsecondary/Collegiate division students may compete at SLC regardless of finish in regional competition

SLC 2026 - Hotel Information
Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons
3121 West Gate City Blvd

(Main conference hotel)
Room Rate: (tax rate currently 12.75% but subject to change without notice)
Standard King or 2 Doubles:$170 per night plus tax
One Bedroom Family Suite: $275 per night plus tax (standard room with a small separate sitting area - may have pull down murphy bed) limited quantity available, available at the Sheraton only
Executive Parlor: $375 per night plus tax (you must also reserve the connected standard king room and the connected double room) - limited quantity available, available at the Sheraton only
Hotel Reservations Open: Monday, January 5, 2026 at 8:00 AM
Hotel Reservations Close: Wednesday, January 21, 2026 - no cancellations or refunds after this date
All checks must be sent to the appropriate hotel no later than Friday, March 6, 2026
All conference attendees are REQUIRED to stay at the conference hotel with the exception of schools located in Guilford County. PLEASE NOTE: If Guilford County schools do not stay in the conference hotels they are responsible for arriving on time for all events and activities. There will be no exceptions made for traffic, car trouble, etc. so plan ahead. Events will not be held and appointment times will not be rescheduled.
We will be overflowing to additional hotels so please send in complete, correct reservations that do not need changes as early as possible.
**NEW**Process for Hotel Reservations - Reservations will be made using an online portal through Unified Event Solutions. DO NOT call the Sheraton or overflow hotels for reservations. If you make reservations outside of our process you will not be considered in the conference hotel and will not be eligible for competition. 2026 SLC Competitive Event Information
Students are only allowed to compete in one (1) competitive event at all levels of competition. They may compete in unlimited recognition events including the ATC tests ($10 each) and Healthcare Issues Exam.

Conference Assistants (Deadline to apply is January 21, 2026)
Each local high school or collegiate chapter advisor is invited to select deserving chapter member(s) to represent their school as a Conference Assistant. These students cannot compete as it is too difficult to work around those schedules. They also need to be available all 3 days of the conference. Those agreeing to be conference assistants will attend an orientation to receive their assignments on Wednesday, March 26, 2026 at 4:00 PM (check the conference app for location). Conference assistants are expected to wear khaki pants and a HOSA polo or HOSA t- shirt. Be sure to identify these students as conference assistants when you register them under optional items in the HOSA system. Students MUST complete the application in addition to being registered.

SLC 2026 - Barbara James Service Award
The cutoff date for Barbara James Service Award hours is February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Hours completed from June 1, 2025 through February 6, 2026 that are documented and APPROVED by the chapter advisor in the HOSA online activity tracking system by 5:00 PM on this date will be counted. The levels of recognition for SLC are below. **Please understand these amounts are NOT the same as what is required for recognition at ILC. The ILC requirements are located in the event guidelines.

Application deadline: February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Deadline for teacher/advisor recommendation forms: February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Important: *NEW* The State Officer Test will be held at 11:00 AM on Wed, March 25, 2026 for all candidates that advance to the onsite portion. The candidates will all take the test at one time. Candidates should arrive by 10:45 AM. Interviews and oral presentations will be by appointment on the same day beginning at 12:15 PM. Those arriving late to the test will not be admitted. Plan ahead.
Candidates should have 3 teachers, one of which must be the lead HOSA advisor, to complete the recommendation form below by February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM.

SLC 2026 - NC HOSA Awards
NC HOSA annually recognizes those individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to North Carolina HOSA. Chapters should submit a completed nomination form to NC HOSA prior to the conference upload deadline of February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Honorary Life Member - Given to an individual who has made a long-term contribution to NC HOSA, and who is deserving of a high honor.
VIP Award - Given to a person in an educational administration position who has demonstrated outstanding support of NC HOSA, i.e. CTE Directors, Superintendents, Principals, Legislators, Mayors, etc.
Partnership Award - Given to a person or organization outside of NC HOSA, based on their contribution to NC HOSA in strengthening the partnership of supporting our future health professionals, i.e. hospitals, health agencies, healthcare organizations, businesses, local and state agencies, etc.
Merit Award - Given to a person within the HOSA organization or working with the organization who deserves recognition for his/her special efforts, i.e. advisors, retired advisors, alumni, national officers, parents, spouses, etc.
Posthumous Remembrance Award - Used to recognize a member of the NC HOSA family that has passed away since the last SLC.

SLC 2026 - National Anthem Singer
Each year NC HOSA invites a student(s) to sing the National Anthem during opening ceremonies. Interested students may submit an audition video using the link below. The deadline to submit is February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM.

SLC 2026 - Design Contest
Students are invited to submit designs for the NC HOSA Pin and T-shirt to be used at ILC. Designs need to be very creative. For the T-shirt please consider incorporating NC HOSA's 50th Anniversary. NC HOSA wants to have the most desired pin at ILC this year. Designs that have moving parts, lights, and are very unique usually are the best. Submission deadline is February 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Design finalists will be voted on during the business session at SLC 2026.

Purpose
The purposes of the NC HOSA State Leadership Conference (SLC) are to:
- Provide a variety of educational and social learning activities at a state level for HOSA members.
- Provide HOSA members the opportunity to share common experiences in leadership development, community service, and understanding of their health science programs.
- Provide information about current health care issues and concerns at the local, state, and national level in health science programs and in HOSA – Future Health Professionals which fosters attitudes of good ethical practices and respect for the dignity of work.
- Provide the opportunity for participation in and recognition of leadership and skill development through competitive learning activities.
- Conduct the necessary annual business of NC HOSA.
- Provide educational workshops that promote the development of students and further NC HOSA purposes
